Week 8 Power Rankings

This is the last week of the Regular Season.  Every team makes the playoffs. However, Playoff seeding is done first by record then by point differential, so it's important to play hard this week.

Rank Team Record Comment
1. Benedict Schemers 6-0 What can I say that hasn't already been said?  They officially clinched the #1 seed for the playoffs.  They're looking to be the first team to ever go undefeated in the regular season.  Wait, wasn't a team in that same position last season?
2. Manhattan Pride 5-2 With Steve coming out of retirement, the Pride took down a very good Erratic team.  They end the season with three consecutive victories.  They've got a bye this week, but are hoping to clinch the #2 seed.
3. Spring Street 4-2 Spring Street?  They're playing more like they're under the bright lights of Broadway.  This team really wants their third championship.
4. Team X 4-2 Buying jerseys to avoid the techs proved to be a wise move by captains Andy and Fun.  These guys managed to pull out one of the most unlikely finishes to a game that I'd ever seen.  Down by three, House completed a four point play to edge out the Blouses by one.
5. Ponzi Schemers 3-3 We'll see if these guys are for real this Sunday against Team X.  A lot of people have their doubts.
6. Indie Team 4-2 Three in a row for this individual team.  Have they finally discovered that team ball = team victories?  If they have, this is a dangerous team in the playoffs.
7. 3rd Rock 3-3 The league's most entertaining team has now lost two straight.  It's always fun to watch these guys play, but they surely don't want to drop three heading into the playoffs.
8. Very Erratic Play 3-3 Winning their first three then dropping the next three, these guys are really living up to their team name.  This team could use a victory to get back on track, but they face Spring Street this week, so it won't come easy.
9. Newport 2-3 Like Very Erratic, they looked great at the beginning of the season, but have lost their last three games.  They'll be looking to ruin Benedict Schemers' perfect season this Sunday.
10. Money Team 2-4 Two in a row?  Break these guys up!  They can't finish the season over .500 but they can move into the playoffs with a lot of momentum.
11. Stay Movin' 3-4 These guys are really moving up and beating who they're supposed to beat.  Even with just five on their squad, they managed a big win last week.
12. Titans 3-3 These guys put up a valiant fight against a much bigger Ponzi Schemers team.  They've got Trick Candles this week.  Let's see if they can sweep the season series.
13. Hoops! I Did It Again 1-5 After a slow first half start, these guys came roaring back.  Unfortunately, it wasn't enough against the hot Indie Team.  This is a good team that plays well together, but need to come out of the gate stronger.
14. Trick Candles 1-5 Tough loss last week against Money Team.  They play great team ball, but their lack of size has been their Achilles heel.  They'll be facing Titans this week, let's see if they get revenge for Week 3.
15. Super Soul Sonics 1-5 Without key players this week, Super Soul wasn't able to keep up with Stay Movin'.  They'll try to bookend their regular season with a win this week against Hoops! I Did It Again.
16. Game, Blouses 3-3 Last time I saw a four point play at the end of the game was at the hands of Larry Johnson.  They play this Sunday potentially finishing the season with a below .500 record for the first time in the history of their non-storied franchise.
