Week 6 Power Rankings

Spring Street and Very Erratic Plays have byes this Sunday.

Rank Team Record Comment
1. Benedict Schemers 4-0 After a decisive win over Money Team last Sunday (and watching Newport falter), the Benedict Schemers are the only undefeated team left. Erik led the game last week with 25 points and 8 rebounds and look to him to bring the Schemers far into the playoffs.
2. 3rd Rock 3-1 With the game tied at the half last Sunday against the Ponzi Schemers, 3rd Rock really pulled through as the better team and certainly one of the top three teams in the league. With an impressive double double of 12 points and 18 rebounds by Brad, we can expect to see this team to close out the season with a high seed going into the playoffs.
3. Team X 3-1 With one of the best front courts ABCHoops has ever seen, Team X made it clear of their intentions to win another championship. Forward Justin put up 17 points and 13 rebounds, which was nothing short of what we expect from him. Consistently putting up great performances, Nobby has really been the Eli Manning of the team.
4. Spring Street 3-2 Spring Street put up the greatest comeback in ABCHoops history. Going into the second half with 9 points and two technical fouls, Spring St. looked unorganized and disoriented. However, with better defense and shot selections by the team, they brought it to over time with a decisive victory against the Game Blouses. This is the championship team we’re used to seeing.
5. Newport 3-1 Last week was disappointing for Newport after they had promised a perfect season. They proved no match for the long range sharp shooting of Will and Pedro. I don't see them starting a losing streak though since they face the Ponzi Schemers this Sunday.
6. Manhattan Pride 3-2 Having the highest average in blocks as a team, Manhattan Pride has finally perfected its defense. Leading scorer Corey put up 20 points against Newport, handing them their first loss of the season.
7. Very Erratic Play 3-2 After losing two straight, this team will have a lot to think about during this week’s bye.
8. Indie Team 2-2 Perhaps last week’s Power Rankings was an inspiration to their victory. With a team total of 16 assists, the Indies played well and looked for each other for the buckets. A much needed win for this team.
9. Titans 2-2 The Titans blew out the Sonics 50-36 with great shooting last week. If this team continues to communicate on the court and lessen its turn overs, we might see this team finish with a four game winning streak.
10. Ponzi Schemers 1-3 This team has all the keys in a good team. Great guards and size down low. Coming off a close game loss to 3rd Rock, the Ponzis will have to change their play if they want to be a serious contender come playoffs.
11. Hoops! I Did It Again 1-3 The Hoops came up with their first victory of the season! Let's hope they don't get too confident as they face off against the Titans next week.
12. Trick Candles 1-3 After a disappointing first half performance, the Trick Candles weren't able to come back for the W against Indie Team. Their FG% really needs to improve if they expect to compete--it's the second worst in the league.
13. Stay Movin' 1-4 Missing star point guard James, the team started the first half in the lead with guard Russell leading the fast break and dropping 5 dimes. However, despite this and Raul's double-double, the team was unable to secure a victory.
14. Money Team 0-4 I still stand by my previous statement of the Money Team being the best squad that hasn't won a game.
15. Super Soul Sonics 1-3 This team cannot be afraid to take the shot. Leading scorer Joji put up 11 points after shooting 5 of 13. The rest took less than 8 shots each. Their schedule isn't getting any lighter. It's time to step it up guys.
16. Game, Blouses 3-1 Spring Street scored 9 points in the first half, yet Game, Blouses still lost. What?
